I am looking to buy a 90 soon as a first car but would like one thats looks reasonably decent, so how much would a full respray cost, I have searched around but every figure is different and I also know that it depends how much prep work is involved, so what would it cost if i did the prep work and how much if i did'nt.

Thanks Oli:)

oh and while I have posted a topic, where are good places to keep an eye out for 90's for sale, I have been looking for a while now and waited for the prices to go down from the snow, I look on autotrader, piston heads, ebay and car and classic, is there any where else?

I'll paint it for food, drin, petrol money n a few beers. You'll have to buy the paint n stuff

I will guess at becasue I would'nt want my defender to look like yours:D

Haha..erm..go and pay hundreds then...i have a compressor, a garage and time...done mine twice in 2 years, and maybe its not perfect, but its a damn good finish....and its a 90, it aint meant to be pretty...You seen my 90 have you..or are you just a sheep that pays through the nose for everything?

You ask how many lads on here if they have painted their landy themselves and if they're happy with the results...

Then **** off back to your bling and your posing pouch.

I used Homebase Metal Gloss, Oxford Blue. :D £4.90 for 1ltr..i used 1 and a 1/2ltrs.. with foam rollers where i couldn't spray it..i lightly sanded down as i'd already painted it a year before, so just needed to get a key for the paint. Took me 3 days all in inc removing/fitting all lights etc..2 coats. Definitely less than £20.

Obviously if you take it back to bare metal and prime it..use expensive paint..its gonna cost more...but with all the dents etc on mine a perfect finish would look strange...i'm well chuffed.

Here you go gollum or whover you are..this is A) What a 90 looks like and B) What the finnished paintjob was like.

Whippersnappers without even owning a landy coming on here acting like they are Johnny Big Potatoes...

Of course, the colour is the main decision to make when getting a land rover..
