Hi
Does anyone know the best way or what to use to treat aluminium corrosion? On defender body panels. I know some bits are due to comtact with steel but corrosion has started around arches from stone chips etc. Thank you

Sand back all the flaky scabby paint along with any oxidised aluminium and use an acid etch primer to seal it up and then a couple of coats of top coat, remember to flat it back with 240 grit wet and dry and perhaps paint the whole panel if it's too bad?

Thanks for the reply.
Do i need to treat with brick acid first to prevent future corrosion coming back through.

Brick acid contains hydrochloric acid which will react with the aluminium and create aluminium chloride and hydrogen. In other words it'll dissolve your panels and not just the aluminium oxide. You need to rub the panel area down to get rid of even the tiniest spec of aluminium oxide, then do what dieseldog69 said.

Ok thankyou very much for your help. What about if I can't make it immaculate and it has pin holes in? Thanks

If you can't make it immaculate it'll just be a matter of time before the oxide breaks through the paint again. :(
