WD40 is ****e for removing corroded stuff .. Use Plus Gas, a drift and hammer.

VINEGAR,,,,VINEGAR works ok ,soak it, leave it, soak it again ,apply heat, soak it again ,,,long winded i know but it works,,,,,,dave,,,,patience grasshopper, patience my son ,all will be revealed!!!!!

thanx for your replies chaps, have spoken to my local garage, bit of luck a blow torch will sort it........if not cut it off and start again.

Am I right in saying that the tow bar support and nut are on the tank side in a small recess moulded into the tank ?.

When I took mine off I had slip a 9" angle grinder between the bracket and the chassis to cut them free. Problem was then that I couldnt get at the cut off bolt with a punch to knock it out. ( cause of the fuel tank ).

In the end I welded a " kin " great nut on the bolt head and let rip with the nut runner until it came out.

Same happened with mine, ground off heads & bolts then knocked the bolts through with a big hammer. Now I got the issue of finding replacement bolts!!
