I've posted this already in engines section but not had any replies so hope I don't get into any bother with admin but I'm going to try it in the range rover section on the off chance someone here sees it.
I will delete one when one gets some replies...hope this is ok

Ok so the P38 I bought lasted 2 weeks before major working needed, core plug is leaking!!
It is the 2.5 BMW diesel engine, rear most core plug, the one you can't get too without alot of hassle, on the back of the engine, above gearbox tunnel, behind a water pipe that feeds into the heater matrix..
First issue was finding a replacement, no luck from motor factors, paddocks,John craddock and discontinued at landrover and my local BMW dealer didn't understand why a range rover has a BMW engine...anyway I found an old-skool garage that has boxes and boxes of stuff, a few of the boxes contain core plugs so happy days..
Now to the hard part...
What is the best way to get to it, a local mechanic says to get over a pit, lower gearbox and get to it that way but I don't think I'll get the angle to get the old one out that way, I thought maybe remove both prop shafts from transfer box, remove radiator and pull the engine forwards but he says this cannot be done but didn't say why..
Any of you guys done this core plug and know the best way of getting to it?
