Does anyone know which way round the copper washer for the coolant drain plug on the engine block goes? As per usual, the Haynes manual doesn't specify. I can provide a pic if need be.

James, I cannot thank you enough for that answer. I can finally tackle the job and not have to worry about making a silly mistake.

Out of curiosity, how did you find out because I searched all over the place before posting? Is these some sort of secret Landy fight club where info like this is disclosed? :)

I managed to take the bleed plug off the block and noticed something unusual. On the plug thread, beneath the copper washer, there appeared (and it might just by some muck) a worn rubber washer. Is there supposed ti be a rubber washer as well as the copper washer?
