Hi guys, been offered 2 sets of tyres for round about the same money. A set of Cooper STT's (235/85's) and a set of Insa Turbo Dakars (265/75's).
I'm going to be using them on my 90 and will be off road and trialing.

ANy views on the better tyre?

haha......OK, if you have a nice set of simex knocking around in your garage for £200.00, I'll have em :D

Don't know the Insa, but Cooper STT have fantastic grip... and that's about all.

Got something like 12,000 km out of one set (on a 127"), and it chips on rough/stony roads.

On the other hand, Cooper ST/C have excellent grip, are chip resistant, and have exceptional longevity. I'm about half-thread on a set after 30,000 km (on a LC77). Best all-terrain I ever had, and several of my friends who operate tours/safaris swear by them. Very puncture-resistant too.

My vehicles spend most of their lives on untarred roads and offroad.

I have not used ether but am after a set of Insa turbo dakar's, so please can you let me know if you decide not to have the dakar's, and send me the deatils, Thank you

no experience of the Coopers but the Dakars on mine have prompted me to search out a 2nd set of on-road wheels.
Off road they're fine but too much movement in the tread and often feel the ABS kick in when braking on damp roads

just put a fresh set of insa turbo special track on my series 3 the off road difference to my old 7.50 x16 avons is phenomenal hardly have to lock front hubs or engage diff lock now dont know if the tread is similar to the dakar but would thouroughly recommend them
