hi, iv got a 2000 on a x td5 with 236k miles and in having problems with cooling as when driving the disco comes up to normal running temp and then some times drops to just above cold but when still with engine running after about 5 mins its drops to just above cold, then if you drive it it all of a sudden comes up to normal running temp.... help any ideas iv replaced top hose and hose below turbo, but it bled up all right and i was getting hot air out vents,

have you checked the thermostat is not sticking open ,making it hard for the car to maintain its temp

I had a similar issue about a year ago, so I disconnected the coolant temperature sensor and prodded it with a multi-meter to check the resistance was roughly in spec.

Didn't find anything out of whack, but I never had the problem again after I plugged it back in. Must have been dirt or corrosion or some other bad contact inside the connector.

thanks guys as theres snow looming iv opted the change hole system and change stat and pump and sensoer i will do aux belt as well... cant afford for it to let me down, does any one know where it can get a head liner from? :focus:

Also have a good look around the fuel cooler.
I had the same problem a few weeks ago and found a slight coolant leak coming off the back of it.
