Hi All,

Last week i noticed that my heaters was cold and the coolant in the expansion tank was low.

I topped this up with about a litre of water did about 40 miles and it was low again. I cannot see any visible leaks,Checked all pipes etc theres no white smoke coming out of the exhaust and there is no water in the oil as its still nice and black.

I checked it this morning before starting it up and the coolant tank was pressurised whether that makes a difference.

helpp

Sounds like the gasket behind the water pump mine does it i just keep topping it up till i can get round to changing it :)

even though there are no signs of a leak around the water pump?

It can evaporate before you get to notice

only leaking under pressure

Damn stuff is going somewhere, get a loan of a coolant pressure tester

Saying which, you HAVE put coolant in and not just water?

water, its drinkin about litre every 5 mile. n for life of me dno where.

That is a fair amount

Do not put just water in it, you'll bugger it

Are the front footwells wet?

Is the rad hot all over?

Does the top get 'hard' when up to temp?

it gets hot when theres water in it.

not checked the rad temp, il check later

nope no footwells wet.

meant to say 50 miles lol

rad gets warm, still no sign water but water level dropped in the expansion tank. did open the bonnet and could hear the expansion tank hissing, undid this slowly and the water inside was cold??
