Hello all.
Just to re-ask. Can the Rad come out with the fans still attached. So as to make the transfer of the fans a bit easier.
Thanks.

Hello all.
Had a crack at it today. Some pics.

Well done, great job. Not easy on your own.
Glad the small bolts holding the air con and intercooler didn't give you too much grief. :)

Ahh. thats what it is. New what the intercooler rad was , but the other was a mystery. Amazed to see nil corrosion behind the Bumper. Either in the chassis section or behind the Rad. Its twenty years old??
Most of the bolts came out easy enough. One i had to chop out of the old Rad. Captive nuts in plastic over years always make me think twice. Take it easy. All the bolts were galvanised, thank God,
I stuck the old coolant back in while I check for leaks, but it is now so diluted due to topping up, I have new . Believe it or not OAT Anti freeze is the cheapest at Halfords. 5ltr £23.00.
All said. Thanks for all your advice!
It took the not knowing out of a job, I could do.
Cheers

Would love to know what this flap is forView attachment 265022
When travelling at speed, the flap opens, allowing more air through the radiator, rather than all the air having to go through the fan holes.

When stationery, or moving slowly, the flap is closed, which causes the cooling fans draw air through the radiator, rather than pull air past the fans from the engine bay.

Lots of vehicles use passive flaps in the fan cowling.
