So apart from a healthy dose of muddy stuff, it doesn't look too bad here right?

So this is my empty clutch master cylinder (see I'm learning!), which is bone dry. Is it likely that either this and/or the Slave Cylinder (see I did it again, learnt something, lol) are the root of my car troubles?

Now I don't know if the extreme heat of the direct sun last summer caused these, already aged hub caps, to split open and spew juice everywhere or if it's connected to the whole lack of clutch, non moving situation. The spewing of juice seemed to coincide with the immobilisation of the vehicle.

A set of those caps are nowt I know, but when this one split it was like a hydraulic fluid oozing and not a grease. Although, it was over 50 degrees in the sun so maybe it liquified the grease? what do you reckon?

As far as the master & slave cylinders go, there's no point in going down the breakers as I can get both brand new for 25 quid together, seems a fair price to me, or is that dear?

Sounds like hub seals/gaskets are gone..thats cheap and easy too. £25 is ok, looking at master cylinder myself for £10 and i think a slave is about £8, thats from the uk.

Have you actually touched this vehicle with your hands?

Well, managed to get about 100km out of it before it died and I did relocate the replacement air intake system, because where the guy had it installed was very restrictive on the airflow. Oh yeah, I also changed over the starter motor as the solenoid melted. Other than that I've done nowt to it.

See my link above...get 4 for £4 and free post to the uk...get someone to send them on..if you cant i can, i get loads of stuff sent here.

Ok, just a thought though, is it worth getting this instead 330469511442 and just doing the whole thing whilst the wheel's off for peace of mind? Seems like good value once again.

Yes mate, always best to do the lot, see if he'll take a tenner, £4 postage to uk...you probably best getting 2 and doing both sides or having a spare...they do go regularly.

I always do things in pairs even if one side doesn't need it, belt n braces and all that! So it looks like worst case scenario, for around 60 notes I can replace the slave & master, plus two front wheel bearing kits. That does sound like good value. What else can I do cheaply to "pimp" my ride?

If you're going to be ordering a few things then you may want to consider paddocks, they do free delivery to the uk on orders over £50 ex vat..or £10 to spain if its less than 30kg which is an excellent deal..

Delivery Information at Paddock Spares

I'd get 2 full service kits, filters etc...your hub kits, belts, bulbs, fuses.

Brake pads too...how much you want to spend..lol...get as many basic items as possible, dont know about spain but here, denmark, things are 3 times the price and they have to order from england anyway...cut middle man out.

There's actually a Land Rover dealer in my local town, no idea on parts costs though and sometimes it's a bit difficult knowing how to say the part in Spanish - I've only been learning for a year. That site looks pretty good though, if only I hadn't just put a deposit down for a ATV Quad bike I could go mad with bits. In fact, when I first got the motor I did buy some odds n sods from fleabay, like new lenses all round, new headlamps, new front screen seal, fog light, petrol cap and lock barrels. I do like to keep some spare parts about me as you never know what's round the corner.

Denmark eh? Never been myself, but a mate of mine emigrated there with his girlfriend about 7 or 8 years ago. You don't know Ben & Mona do you?
