After week after week of trawling through car ad sites, i've finally come across a defender 90 that i like!! Only problem is, it is curently a pickup, and i want a hard top.

SO I'VE COME TO YOU GUYS FOR HELP!!!

What panels do i need to find to convert it?

Any ideas how i do it?

Any idea's where i can get the parts at a decent price?

and last of all, does anyone have any idea how much it would most likely cost?

Thanks in advance guys.......

When yu get the sides try and get the locating bolts off the rear tub if you can.

I am in the same situation, i've got a truck cab with perfect headlining and a nice tonneau cover with internal fitted struts.

I've got a local landrover independent involved as they say they often get people in who want truck cabs!

Is it the chequer plate cover on the photo, if so I would be interested in buying the cover if its going spare.
Provided of course the price is right and you are not a million miles away.
Let me now if your interested.

Yes it is Chequer plate, I also have some struts fitted inside the rear of the tub and runners on the underside of the cover so it lifts like a "boot" almost.

I am in North Devon.

Thats quite a distance, and would'nt really fit into "local collection" as I'm in North Lincolnshire............
It does look nice though, I was planning on trying to get something made like that myself and thought I might have saved myself the trouble.....

The tub cover looks the biz, is it a home made bit of kit, or could you say where you got it - I am in West Devon - how much would you want for it?

Its home made yes. Does the job brilliantly. I fitted some loops so it locks on a padlock and the struts mean you prop it up to access.

To be honest if I can get a hard top (ideally with windows) then I have no use for it anymore and it can go for a cheap price to a nice person!!

I won;t let it go though until I have the hard top!

Just need to find someone with about a P reg 90 who wants a truck cab with a good headliner!

Ebay...£100

£100 will get you some tat.

If that's what you want then fine.

It's quite common for people wanting to go the other way so you may be able to find someone to do a deal with.

A good roof with sides and good safari door plus headlining will cost you about £3-400, whilst your truck cab could fetch £250.

It all bolt off and on very easily.

you will have one problem where you need to fit a safari door centre hinge where you currently have a taligate pin.

Anyone got any better ideas than E-bay? Keep looking but all too far away for me!

Surely there must be someone in the South-West who wants a truck cab!!??

I changed from pick up to hard top a year or so ago, roof side and door were total of £100 plus a few little bit didnt get with them say £30.
Sold the truck cab with a ****ed head lining for £320!

and was the best thing i ever did, now i can put the seat back and be in relative comfort.

Good luck on your search
