I have purchased a late model RRC project that has a late model 4 bolt PS Box fitted, the vehicle came with no engine or gearbox.

To make life easy for myself I bought a V8 3.5 15D Carb engine with a Torquflite 3 Speed Auto.

The engine serial number shows it would have been from a 81-85 RRC and I have photos of the engine and box in a rolling RRC chassis along with a 3 bolt PS box - I didn't buy the 3 bolt box it was already sold.

My problem is I have neither of the pipes from the steering box.

Dunsfold don't know if you can connect them together and if so will standard pipes fit both ends ?

Has anyone done this etc.

If it can't be done etc then I would be looking for a manual steering box if anyone has one let me know.

Thanks.

I have found someone with 4 bolt box with pipes who also has a scrap 3 bolt pump.

He says the 4 bolt pipes are too small for the pump on the 3 bolt box system.

Bugger.

Does anyone have the pipe for a 3 bolt pump or at least tell me the thread details.

It is NRC5988.

Thanks.

Had 3 bolt box on my 75 classic and 4 bolt on the 89 classic and to me the 4 bolt seem`d to give a more positive steering, can you not find a company like Pirtek to make the pipes up for you ?

Yes thats why I want to know about the thread or get an old pipe for them to copy the pump end.

I have bought new pipes for the box end to join them to.

Take the pump off and take it to the hydraulic workshop to match the fittings into it, normally the ps pump not too hard to remove.

That was my last resort, the engine is shoe horned into a Series 1 and there is very little access.

Knowing my luck something will break as well.

Thanks.
