Underneath the Discovery S2 2003 today Waxoyling away I noticed the splash flap located ahead of the rear wheel on the LH passenger nearside was damaged. Whilst I have instigated a temporary repair I thought it would be good to change these two inboard rear wheel mud flaps.
I am now confused as to their purpose, part numbers and availability. The only thing I can see that resembles this item is Splash Shield (for air comp) RH - CAT101080. As the compressor is fitted on the LH side there doesn't seem to be a LH (passenger nearside) side one available. Was the compressor ever fitted to the RH offside and, is there a LH nearside flap available, if so what is the part number and finally why are two flaps fitted, both LH and RH on my car.

Steve.

LR exagerated a bit with the name of those parts, i think they meant that those mud shields are for vehicles fitted with SLS(which means they have an air suspension compressor), these are to protect the air springs, there is for LH side too CAT101090, you can see if you open nr 8 here https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/L5.L5B.L5B02.L5B02005/brand/land-rover/

Thanks for that explanation lads, just a matter of finding one at a reasonable price. They seem quite rare.
Anyone got an old one on their shelf?
