Hi Gents,
Does any one no where I can get instructions on fitting a new piston seal to my EAS pump.
Dismantling the pump itself isn't a problem. fitting the seal to the piston is.
It looks too brittle to be streched over and I don't see how to distmantle the piston crown.

Cheers

You just prise the top ring off the piston crown and that releases the seal, use a fairly wide flat blade screwdriver. Go as gently as you can to avoid damaging the soft aluminium.

The easiest way I found to refit the aluminium ring is to heat it up on a cooker hob so that it expands then just drops back onto the top of the piston. Use a pair of pliers to pick up the ring obviously when hot !!!!!

The ring can be prised off without causing damage. Just needs easing off gently, working around the groove. The old seal is scrap anyway and quite brittle, it is easily removed from the groove. The ring is not a tight fit by any means. I have changed several seald and not had to resort to drastic measures such as heat etc.
