All good. Dont compare to any books or other peoples results. As long as they are similar readings. Its hard to make these checks consistent to compare between your own vehicle and what the manual says.

but if you did want to compare to the book
145psi for 7:1 compression ratio engine no starting 904....
160psi for 8:1 compression ratio engine no starting 901...
all within 5psi not bad

so I'm guessing mines an 8:1 looking at the boss.

Turners gas flowed and hardened the seats in 1996

so if my comps are 130 ish all round I'm 30psi down on each cylinder.
What's the likely cause? rings?

inaccurate guage ,slow cranking speed ,you could test dry again then add a little oil to each and retest that would show poor ring /bore contact if improves significantly ,but if its not burning oil and runs well i wouldnt worry

cheers James, just read again and I wasn't fully opening throttle to test.

I'll put another battery in parallel and open throttle and retest.
compression test kit is fairly decent as first one I purchased was pants :)

Dont worry, you wont get an exact match to the book, your figures are fine.
