Welcome to the forum, see if any of the holes are in a similar place to anything on my back door.

If you haven't already looked into it consider beefing up the security before you find a gap in your drive where your pride and joy used to be.
It has a spare on the back, inside the back door is a squarish hole, will take pic tomorrow.

Defenders started in 1990, before that are Ninety or One-Ten. People often stick on defender badges, not sure why.

Are doors easy to come by?

Complete good one piece doors are very expensive new, and hard to find second hand. You could rebuild the old doors onto new frames, or fit aftermarket galvanised doors.
Series doors, two piece with sliding windows, are much cheaper and will fit.
Google search is your friend. Ring round people like Paddock and Dingocroft to see what is available.

Series doors will fit, they are cheaper and come in 2 parts .
All Defender doors will fit.
If the chassis and bulkhead are good I would splash out on new Defender doors.
Don't be concerned about it being a Defender or not, they are all the same to look at , Landrover just changed the model name from ninety to Defender when they fitted the 200tdi engine , they didn't change much else.
Unfortunately these old trucks can be made to look good quite easily, very little rust can be seen walking around them because of the alloy panels. The bits of the bulkhead (steel so rusts!)that can be seen easily (door pillars, under the windscreen around the vents) can be bodged with filler and painted giving the appearance of good metal to the inexperienced.
You may have got a good landy there and I hope you have but it's so easy to buy a pup if you don't know what to look for.
Forget the doors for now and get the bulkhead and chassis checked out by someone who knows.

Maybe someone off here is local to you and good give it the once over?
I'm miles away from you unfortunately.

Thank you, the local garage are doing the springs and silencer next week so perhaps I should ask them to look....I dread the answer. But it will be our own fault if it is a pup! Now, off to scrape that sticker

If they are landy experienced then yes, good idea. Ask for a full written chassis and bulkhead condition check, should only take 30 mins tops if that on a lift.
Let us know the outcome won't you.

It isnt a minefield. Series doors are widely available, and cheap. Defender doors fit, but cost a fortune, and much more fiddly to work on due to door cards etc.

And you only need a big screwdriver to to fit them. Plus a good drill to drill out the old bolts, most likely.

The hole in the door is where someone has fitted a rear wash wipe, you dont need it for MOT as your vehicle didnt come with it. Tape over the hole in the door card if it bothers you.

The beauty of these is they are old tech, so parts prices tend to be low, and repairs fairly simple.

will do, and thanks again

As before, try posting a few pics of the underneath, especially the rear xmember and legs, and around the outriggers and spring mounts. Also inside the bonnet of bulkhead, and in the footwells with mats removed.

Yes, as Turbo man says it's your rear wiper motor that's missing, there is supposed to be a plastic cover which hides the motor, the outline of the cover shows as a witness mark in the door card. The corrugated tube on the left carries the wiring for the motor and hrw if you have one. If you prise off the door card you will probably find bad rust behind it.
