Hi all

I have been looking for the colour code for my Defender - looked on the VIN plate but that's blank! It's Coniston Green but there are two different shades, and they changed over in '97 - take a wild guess at which year my Landy was made :(

I have taken a snap with my trusty iphone - I know it won't be exact (in fact both pictures look quite different!) but I'm wondering if anyone could have a stab at identifying it or think of another way of finding out what colour it is... ?

Thanks in advance

Mine is a 95' defender in conniston green LRC570, and I would say, looking at the images, that mine is a "greener" green than yours. The images you've posted look like they have a bit of blue in the colour (second image in particular), whereas mine is just a mid to dark green. On that basis I would therefore say it's the later colour. Not sure how long you've owned it, but worth checking on parts that would never have had a respray, like the inner bulkhead, a lot of vehicles of this sort of age have had resprays and often that can confuse things further.

A single aerosol tin might be a good buy, bear in mind that the colour will be influenced by the primer and number of coats, so do a test piece of metal with several layers, then compare with your bodywork. For the sake of a £10 or so, it's worth checking in this way to be certain.

Hope that helps
