I apologise. I didn't realise you were so sensitive to (auto censored) obscenity. We could get it moved to AG ??With your positivity in your statement in the exact oil that you are using I would have thought you were an “oil expert”... perhaps that was your intention.
Also why the obscenity ? Do you have trouble yourself
Which means they dont behave the same in that particular ACE environment like the one which was used to calibrate the system ... anyway this discussion can be endless, i dont understand why put ATF in a system which was built to work with CC PAS fluid while it's available at the aprox same price , i compared loads of oils data sheets and there are differencies between ATF and the CC PAS fluid that's a fact and i repeat the ACE system is very sensitive so each for his ownengine oil and gear box oil have been used for systems with more
Are posts that are censored getting double censored now??Watch the swearing in public sections please.
im not saying you should not fill with lr fluid ,but i do dispute its necessary, from any aspect hydraulic oil would perform just as well in pas and ace system,Which means they dont behave the same in that particular ACE environment like the one which was used to calibrate the system ... anyway this discussion can be endless, i dont understand why put ATF in a system which was built to work with CC PAS fluid while it's available at the aprox same price , i compared loads of oils data sheets and there are differencies between ATF and the CC PAS fluid that's a fact and i repeat the ACE system is very sensitive so each for his own

When are posts posted by clowns who try to pick holes in posts posted by posters posting to try and help posters who ask for help getting censored?
thats an advert,so why do lr use atf in the defender and disco in the same pump with the 300tdi,I've seen this on other oils too but that's what i found at first search and it's enough for me as an argument(beside my others) for ACE pump too:
"Power steering fluid is not interchangeable with automatic transmission fluid (ATF) because ATF does not have the anti-wear protection or shear stability needed to protect the power steering pump."
it's in this document: http://www.lubegard.com/pdfs/PSFluid_PS.pdf
I dont know why... so i can ask why LR recommends the CC PAS fluid for D2 then? (maybe they realised it's better?) ... and our "debate" was mainly about ACE in which LR didnt use ATF before...thats an advert,so why do lr use atf in the defender and disco in the same pump with the 300tdi....,
ace wasnt used before, there was no issue with atf in pas systems and pump failure hasnt changed with d2 using cold climate fluid which was never high, id think lr use one fluid to do both for simplicity and call it cold climate to ensure you buy it,either system would run perfectly well on hydraulic oil, and atf as they did for so many years, lr used to recommend castrol engine oil and it was inferior to other oils, the engines were filthy and worn out whereas the farmers trucks used tractor oil and were cleaner with less wearI dont know why... so i can ask why LR recommends the CC PAS fluid for D2 then? im not suggesting you should, though those vehicles were new once and had no higher pas pump failures then later vehicles using the same pumpOK, so be it... though i'll keep using the recommended CC PAS fluid in mine cos i can't see any reason to use other stuff just to make experiments or cos it worked well in older vehicles
no but they could have used a proven hydraulic oil but opted for one oil to do the 2 systemsBut they didnt have ACE to be filled with ATF though
