So I've got terrafirma medium 2 inch lift springs on my 90 and decided that I wanted to remove the lift but still have firm springs.
Purchased some britpart hd yellow springs standard height.
The confusing thing is the lbs rating and open spring length of the britpart is identical to the terrafirma ones. Even when fitting one the ride height is identical.
I would have expected the springs to be shorter especially as the rating is the same.
Do I need to wait for the spring to compress ?

The yellow one has 6 coils, the grey one has 5. What’s the betting the grey one will settle with the extra weight on it.

Maybe it's the photo but the yellow spring definitely looks slightly shorter than the grey one.

As above, you aren't going to know until you fit it and it is carrying the load.

It's about 5mm shorter. I've fitted one front and the ride height is the same as the terrafirma side.

The front ride height is dependent on load 2ins lift with spare wheel on the bonnet winch and bumper will put the ride height back around standard height with the firm ride u want the only draw back is that u will have to be built like a brick s##t house to open the bonnet

Have a look at this chart. You will see that Standard springs on a 90 are all different. I think this is to allow for torque reaction in the vehicle as you drive.
As tottot says, I would avoid HD springs on a Landrover, they will knacker your back, and provide an unpleasant ride.

I'd assumed that the hd standard height springs would be for standard weight. I didn't see any additional info regarding carrying extra weight like you see with terrafirma hd springs.

I've cleaned up my old old standard springs and will fit these to ascertain the height and handling.

Just a quick follow up, it drives so much better on standard springs!! Also no problems with my big wheels on standard height though not tested in an off-road environment yet.

I have always thought the standard springs on these trucks/tractor are of good quality I clean & paint them trying to keep clean the markings. & use good shocks.
