Hi All, anyone local (Staffs area) have a suitable code reading/resetting gizmo to suit a 94 300 Tdi Auto please and a have bugger all better to do for a few mins sometime?

Got the dreaded SRS illuminated all the time on the dash and would like to find out what the cause is, just in case it's something like the battery has been removed and it needs resetting. (It's the older system with two sensors one either side of the engine bay)

Cheers

Glenn

Hi
I may be wrong but I think the SRS light is a soft code, in so much as when the fault is rectified the light extinguishes without needing reset.
It may be different on a Disco 1 but sure it is for a Disco 2.
SRS light on may be a fault in the Rotary coupling behind the steering wheel.
You can usually pick them up on Ebay for £15. New price is silly money

Hi Glenn, when the SRS light was showing on my Disco, I cleaned the yellow connectors under the passenger seat with Contact Cleaner, then put them back together and..........Bob's yer Uncle the light went out.

Had that fault on my daughters Clio too. Quick clean & all was well.

Cheers will give cleaning a go, had a search the t' interweb and some say it'll reset itself when fault cleared some say it'll need resetting with (expensive) gizmo.

Only reason i'm bothering about it is the fact it's a mot fail, plan b is to wire light up to timer (As it's my vehicle and my other disco's don't have airbags anway) but if i can sort it properly that's best option (Although whether old airbags are of much use anyway is another point!)

Does the hawkeye system work with these??
