Loads of threads re; guys using rollers and getting good results

I was happy using pre-mixed aerosols (auto paint st helens a good supplier)

Stephen Hull website also has lots of pointers (sticky under paint colour)

Do you mean like rattle cans? How many of them did you get through!?

Yep Karlos - good old 400 ml rattle cans

I started intending to just 'patch spray' but ended up doing everything except the roof!

Also sprayed the 5 wheels whilst I was at it!!!

Didn't spray any interior panels by the way.

Forget the exact number used, but think it was about 8 cans - at £6.99 a tin.

Certainly more expensive than buying a tin of cellulose paint and some thinners (about £12 for a litre of paint and the same again for 'decent' thinners), but not ridiculously so.

The main hassle was masking everything to prevent overspray (I cheated and didn't do too much dismantling) - the wheel arch eyebrows were the worse - and waiting on a warm dry day in Scotland as I can only get the front of the Landy in my garage just now!

Bonnet was taken off for spraying, as easier if panels are vertical!

hmmmmmm i really dont kno what to do with mine... the colour i want is metallic (epsom green) so i wont be able to roller it like i wanted to, so save me masking as you say!

do i rattle can, attempt to spray with compressor.. or choose a slightly different satin colour!?

Not sure about the cans, been told coach paint comes up nice gloss despite using brushes, am thinking of G4 edition orange any thoughts or pics on successful attempts

Compressor approach will be cheaper and give a great finish - just need to experiment with the best thinners ratio and practice

Rattle tins can be more forgiving as pre mixed

If your looking at doing a complete colour change, compressor would make sense if not looking to use brush or roller

I would not recommend painting metallic paint by hand. It will show up all the marks from your brush strokes. You really need to spray it.
Single tone paint however must be fine to apply by brush as a lot have done it on here.
