I know that this subject has been evoked a few times, but my story is that I have had my Freelander for over ten years and driven over 100 000 kms on the same clutch, that I was happy with and always felt just right.
Then last month the main cylinder went, so I had the whole lot changed (she has done 180 000 on the original parts): cylinder, flywheel, and clutch for €1782 :-(
But soon as I drove her away, I felt unhappy about the clutch that is now really near to the floor; I went back and was told that the travel is not adjustable and that is where a new clutch bites... but I am not convinced and am still not feeling that it is in the right place.
Does anyone know if there is a specified correct distance where a new clutch (complete kit) should take up? Or is there something else that perhaps the garage has missed?
