can bleed clutch with slave out of box but not normally a problem

is slave and pushrod fitted to release arm properly? might have missed arm and not got connected, this is easy mistake to make

clutch can be a bastard to bleed but if you are pumping fluid good im inclined to say mechanical fault at slave end ie not fitted properly

pull slave, check release arm cannot be pressed in (ie it is engaged against clutch, try to feel clutch spring pressure) then hold pushrod into slave and get a mate to press clutch SLOWLY and see if slave moves (do not pop slave piston out of slave)

then report back :)

Definitely connected along with small plastic clip to hold in place but to get this on piston had to come out of slave?!? Ur going to tell me that's bad arnt u?

well unless youre ****ing all your fluid out then no not necessarily

you need to work out if your master is pumping properly and then if your slave is ok

again, they can be a bastard because master pumps so little fluid

Master working as I disconnected pipe from wer it meets slave and fluid was coming out. Fluid is coming through bleed nipple, no air at all but just cannot get pressure. Master must be letting fluid back up through a seal.

Well, make you're best guess and then change your most likely part.

If not, change the other one!

This can happen, occasionally due to disturbance/running dry.

Beware of metric and imperial threads.

I reckon slave has give up. It'll have to be Tuesday now anyway. Ill let yano either way. Cheers for help noisy.

Got her going. Bled an bled an bled to no avail, picked one of those auto bleed kits with the one way valve on and after much pumping its finally worked! Nice an smooth and very light. Bites a little low down though. Now for adjustment. How do I do this?

if it has shims between slave and bell housing you can remove them or bleed some more

I mean the pedal as there is excess play on it. Thanks James, there is a shim there, wondered why it was there. Ha the bolt hold the pushrods to the pedal is stepped. I spun that and it took most of play away and fitting a stop bolt to top of brace as there was not one there this took away the excess lift I had.

New master cylinder, new slave cylinder. Still having trouble with it though no have by passed the little 'one way valve thingy',I presume that's wat it is and it had bled fine and upto pressure no problem. Is it vital to run through this?

its a damper ,can make bleeding difficult, but its not necessary

So it completely pointless. Just wouldn't bleed or get any pressure on pedal with it on. As soon as I by passes it and went straight from master in to slave it bled and the pressure build up n feels lovely.

It's a little vibration damper as far as I can see.

Something fitted to take the real pedal feel away from the driver and cuddle him in a false sense of security.

Ditch all that type of **** ASAP!
