Not the most exciting title, I grant you, but I've never done this job before and it seems too simple a question to be on the internet..

People mention using "moly grease" or "molybdenum disulphide grease".... so, my question is, where does it go? The inner plastic tube that slides up and down the shaft, and/or in the gaps in the outer metal face?

Is moly grease the same as CV grease? If so, can I use what I have left over that came with my CV joints (bearmach)?

Ok, so it's just the inner diameter of that plastic tube section then? I eventually found a section in the workshop manual, and it only talks about the "inner diameter"... Not the bearing race itself.
 
It'll be sealed otherwise grease would be flung out when it spins up, bad news for the clutch plate. I think only minimal grease may be applied to the operating shaft.
 
Computer not on so looking on Haynes manual. Lightly smear outer faces of release bearing sleeve with clutch assembly grease (can't check until morning what that is) and a little high melting point grease on contact faces of pivot post and release lever.
 
Don't forget to grease the recess in the release arm that fits over the pivot ball (which is part of the release bearing sleeve) if that makes sense?

Do you mean the recess where the white nylon cup fits, or grease the inside of the nylon cup itself?

Brilliant, thanks for that... I did have a crocodile dundee moment watching that.... "that's not a heavy duty clutch fork!" - mine is the v8, so it's got the chunky cast iron fork. I also don't have slippers on that version.

so the other difference - see the photo in my build thread (latest posts) - is that I dont have that pivot-clip/fork arrangement on the v8 fork. I have a plain old hole in the fork casting which has a nylon cup pushed into it. This nylon cup with what the pivot ball rubs against. I know in some applications, anything nylon is there to "self lubricate". I don't know if that's the case with this application though.
