1996 Discovery 300Tdi Manual
Hi all.
A couple of weeks ago, just suddenly, my clutch pedal went 3/4s of the way to floor before "catching" to change gear. Would partially come back up, but then wouldn't return fully unless I hooked my toe under it and pulled it back up. It would then stay up until next change of gear, then would do the same. Searched the site, concluded probably the master cyl needed replacing. Had it changed, was then ok for few days. Now today, after parking up the night before when it was all ok, drove off, but pedal suddenly travels about a third down before "catching." Gear change is still smooth enough, and pedal comes right back up ok now, but it's much more downward movement than I had before. Thinking may want a second bleed ? Does the new cylinder normally have to "settle" in, then bled again. Any thoughts anyone ?? Also, previously before any of this problem started, I only had to depress the pedal hardly more than 1-2 inches max before "catching" So my other question is what's the normal average travel before engagement resistance is felt ??
Thanks in advance.
Dave
