hi guys & girls
need some help here please for a mate with a 300 tdi, who has not yet got himself on tinternet. Two weeks ago his clutch system completely failed, previous invoices on work that had been done prior to him purchasing the vehicle stated the gearbox had been repaired and clutch replaced with 3 part clutch and new fork. so no worries there i changed the master cylinder and slave he went for the better quality parts, any way parts fitted bled system, great back on the road.
last night his pedal went straight to the floor he put his foot underneath the pedal and pulled it back up pushed it down again, straight to the floor again. The third time he pulled it up he had full pressure drove for a few miles the same happened again, the system has lost no fluid, this morning it was fine for a few miles then the same happened again.
is it possible that air may be trapped in system even after this length of time.
any help would be most welcome:(

thats the landrover patented unique clutch system, they all do it from time to time ;)

hi yella
drove mates disco yesterday felt & drove fine more refined than me old 200
but the gear change was followed by a strange scraping noise. do you think possible thrust bearing problem and previous owner telling pork pies? ;)

Mine makes the same noise on pedal release. Has done since I had it. The bloke that services it says 'they go on and on for ages like that - don't worry' and I believe him. The other business sounds like a problem with the hydraulics on the clutch or may just need bleeding.
