Not happened to me before but the last couple days my clutch pedal is sticking in after depressing, then stays down and I have to pull it up with my foot or hand.

Can still change gear though which is odd just with a bit of force.

Usually clutch works fine, no difficulty in changing gear.

Fluid level is fine and full, system was bled recently.

Sounds like a punctured fork to me.
That would be my guess as well. If you split the box and engine to investigate while in there replace the fork with a heavy duty one and cable tie the slave cylinder rod to the fork so it does not come out next time you remove the slave :mad:

If they are like the D2 TD5 forks then a different design to the 300tdi, these are a solid cast unit, not going to puncture like the old ones. IMHO.

My old 300tdi had a similar fault.

Very quickly went from OK to flat on the floor, but by then it was not working. No leakage at first that could be seen. Pulled the slave and found a very small dribble from it, replaced it and job was a good one.

Check the return spring which goes between the pedal and the top of the footwell.

Should be fine, its got the newer lighter spring mod done. Ill check anyway

Ive got a master and slave ready to go. Last i checked the fluid was sludge, flushed it through all was fine for 400ish miles now this.

If last time you checked the fluid was sludgy that is likely to be the seals disintegrating. If this is the case it is more likely to be a hydraulic problem than a mechanical one so I would start with replacing the cylinders and see if that solves it. This is also a very easy job compared to splitting the box to get to the clutch mechanicals.
 
Probably hydraulics seizing up, usually master as slave tends to just let go. Could also be the release bearing sticking on the shaft but lifting pedal would not shift it. Pedal seizing on shaft is a maybe but not likely.
 
Ok cheers fellas. Looks like ill be changing the master n slave this weekend and hoping for the best!
 
Changed both the master and slave today. What an arse!!

The master was a pig to remove partly down to the AC and mainly down to the ABS pipes and header tank being in the way, the old 90 was much easier!

As we got it off it basically fell to bits as it was removed, well and truely fubar!

All bled with fresh fluid and running a treat!

Yeah it is. It was before tho, the issue was intermitant. The master was leaking though, as I pulled back the matting it was soaked in fluid.
 
Yeah its SO much better now! Clutch is so soft and easy, no more judders, changes perfectly now. Really happy!
