Hi all my clutch pedal has gone floppy on the first 1-3 inches of travel then afterwards it feels normal
I am thinking this might just be the spring on the pedal inside the cab but may be wrong
Any ideas
Thanks
Stu

Oh its a 1987 90

If not return spring then it could be the clutch release arm failed.
common fault but I'm afraid it means dropping the gearbox!!!
If it is the release arm then it hasn't failed fully yet but it will and then you'll be stuck with no clutch so you better learn to drive with no clutch.#

Not trying to be a downer - sorry

this could have happened

Mine is similar and every now and again doesn't return all the way, flick it with my foot and pop its back up, mines recently had new clutch kit and hd arm

Huh, mine did this the other week, a few days later it was fine. Guessing there was a little air in the system

Mine has a bit of free play, I adjusted the nut on the clutch housing and it was ok for about 3 depressions then it went back to having free play:confused:

It had a new clutch cylinder about a month ago and a full flush out and new clutch fluid
The fluid level is still at the top where it was so will check the nut on the clutch housing when i have five minutes
If not my try bleeding again just in case

you adjust the nuts on master cylinder push rod to increase pedal travel

Thanks James, not been under there yet (old age) I'll have a go at it tomorrow, the clutch bite is in a bad place at the moment and my leg hurts due to the angle it is at when it bites. A bit higher would be a lot easier and make for a more pleasant drive, everything else clutch wise is fine, new 3 part clutch with heavy duty fork and a good slave cylinder well bled.

Thanks:)
