Noticed recently that my clutch pedal on my 1995 300tdi doesn’t return fully to start position.

clutch working fine. Can get all gears and ratios. Just not fully returning.
I can’t lift it back to full with my toe. Next press it does it again.

any ideas?

I had this the other day. In the end I whipped the clutch pedal box out because no amount of faffing about fixed it
It was the spindle, cleaned it up and lubricated and it was like a new pedal
Bleeding the clutch again was a pain though

Thanks. Will check that. Although as you say no fun bleeding clutch. Anyway to access spindle without?

You could try and access it by removing the cover on the box under the bonnet but as the pin is horizontal you'll probably get more oil on the floor mat than on the spindle. Worth a try. Also assuming the fluid levels are OK
