OKay...... thanks for the info and feedback gents. Here is the update. The AA man came today and had a brief look and suggested a problem within the clutch itself. We went to the garage who called me to say they think I need a replacement clutch.

I have a few questions however.

Could it be anything simpler?

Could I ask them to try something else?

Is £700 appropriate?

Any good tips for a non technical person PLEASE!
