Hi all
Thought I'd share this: I've recently replaced the clutch plate, presure plate and thrust bearing - soon after this I was unable to disengage the clutch. Fortunately I was close to home and managed get back. The fork was to blame - the push rod from the slave punched a hole right through the fork. Moral of the story, replace the fork whenever you do the clutch.
Once again I lost the clutch (yesterday) only this time I was 170 Km from home and in heavy traffic - fun. This time, the idiot (not me) who replaced the fork, did not use the correct bolts when refitting the slave. Needless to say, they rattled loose and cylinder fell off... The trick I learnt when having to come to a stop at traffic lights and toll booths was to switch off, put it in 2nd low ratio and then pull off with the starter. Once she was rolling smack it to high ratio and carry on as normal! Fixed it myself today and am now ready for some more adventure!
