o.k - not moved the defender 110 for 2 years and finally got motivated to get the old girl ready for an MOT, this is a old G reg 2.5 diesel turbo. Charged battery and started first turn of key. The problem currently is no pressure on clutch pedal and when forcing into gear the engine stalls, can put in gear with engine off and bump on key but seems like clutch may have seized up as being sat for so long. Im no mechanic but happy to get out screw drivers and tools to take a look. Whats the thoughts on the problem.... welcome any replies. cant wait to get the out girl out on the road, location rainham, kent

If there is no pressure on the clutch pedal, it is unlikely that the clutch has seized, if it had, the pedal will be solid. Have you checked how much clutch fluid is in the reservoir? If it is full, the clutch may need bleeding. If that doesnt work, the master & slave cylinder seals may have given up.

hard to unsieze as you cant really get in to spray some wd40 in however you can through clutch lfork/arm gap also try bumping it ? may do it
otherwise strip down mate ?
Surely if there is no pressure at the clutch pedal, then it is unlikely the clutch is seized.

MIGHT be seized if tas been stood but yer int gonna know til ya get some work from the pedal.

Master cylinder seal if it int ****in fluid from the slave I'd reckon

clutch can seize and pedal feel normal ,leaving it running in 5th gear with t/box in neutral and pedal pressed will free it in time ,but id be surprised if seals in cylinders would be good after standing 2 years
