Hi all,

I've just purchased a 1984 110 Van 3.5l V8 Manual.

The master cylinder was replaced by a garage just before I purchased her. On the way home the clutch pedal got a bit "touchy" about allowing me to select a gear then failed completed. The pedal travelled to the floor but no pressure and I couldn't get into any gear.

Tow truck delivery to home :-(

I replaced the slave cylinder, rigid pipe (wrong config supplied - thanks) and (custom made due to rigid pipe issue) flexi-pipe and topped up with fluid. Same problem.

Removed slave cylinder (easier to do now I've replaced everything :) ) and stuck my fingers in the hole to see what the piston should connect to. The clutch fork was flapping about inside but I did finally get it to align with something inside to create a connection and then quickly but carefully reassembled the slave cylinder. Hey presto!! I managed to drive her and get parked somewhere safe.

What I now need to determine is what is wrong and how to go about sorting it.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I bet the clutch fork pivot has punched through.
Or the release bearing is stuck. Easy enough to sort once the box (or engine) is it but a fair bit of spannering to get to that point

Or the plastic push rod clip has broken and fallen out giving the slave cylinder nothing to work against
