Hi.
The issue I am having is that when I press my clutch pedal there is a quite loud rubbing noise. When pedal is released, it goes away. When you are moving and change gear there is a whirring noise every time you press the clutch to change gear. There is also a very fierce creak or squeak on pressing and releasing the pedal. This all started after I got stuck for about half an hour in a very deep puddle. Up to about the top of the tyres.
I have a bit of mechanical knowledge but have never worked on a clutch or gearbox so Im not really sure of the internal workings. I've had a bit of a search round on this forum and it seems that similar symptoms indicate a worn release bearing and possibly something to do with a fork. I have had a look round on the net and found all sorts of different referb kits.
My questions are:
From what I have described, would you agree that my problem is associated with the release bearing and the fork ?
If so can anyone recommend a suitable referb kit ?
I presume it is sensible to replace the clutch while the whole thing is off and apart ?
Is there a good guidance document anywhere of how to complete this task ?
I have replaced diffs and wheel bearings etc, would you expect that this will be within my capabilities or is it a very complex task ?
Thanks very much for any help.
Paul.
