Wondering if someone could help? My clutch pedal has been going loose and I'm struggling to select gears so I think my clutch may be on its way out! If that is the case does anybody know what sort of price I'd be looking at to have it replaced? I have a defender 90 300tdi, it's a 1995 model and my first Landrover

It could just be clutch fork if you take slave cylinder and check the push rod either way gear box out mate put post in defender section someone close my be able to help

Yes it does sound like your clutch fork. It's a cheap and nasty piece of design work by Landrover.
If it goes completely, upon the removal of the slave cylinder, the rod will be about flush with the bell housing. If it's healthy, the rod will be poking out by about an inch.
Don't be tempted to pull on the rod too hard as it is only held in by a plastic clip
