Hi All
Yesterday i bought my first land rover, a 1985 110 with the 2.5na diesel.
I think it had been sat for a while but wasn't very rusty and drove around the block fine so i bought it and drove it the 120 miles home.
While on the motorway home i noticed that sometimes when i accelerated hard or when going up hill the car felt like the clutch was slipping, in that it would rev but not really accelerate, it was only slight so i didn't know if i was making it up or not at the time.
Then when pulling off the motorway it didn't seem to go into gear and i had to pull over, i got it going again fairly quickly though. After some driving around last night showing off my new toy, we parked it up for the night, only to try and drive it today and find it was stuck again.
Exactly what's happening is i press the clutch in, put it in gear (it feels like its slotting into gear) and then pull the clutch up and the car behaves like i haven't bought the clutch up. When sat idling i can hear a chatter underneath that goes away when i press the clutch in.
If i pump the pedal it does start to engage and i can get it to drive up to about 10 mph but after that it's all slip.
The clutch pedal has pressure, the clutch master cylinder reservoir is full almost to the top with fluid and has been like that since yesterday.
I was about to try and bleed the slave cylinder but was really struggling to get a spanner on the nipple and gave up once it got dark.
If anyone has any ideas that could help then let me know, i really want to drive my new toy!
Thanks
