Hi all, I while back someone suggetsed I may have a leaky clutch slave cylinder I think and suggested a way of finding out. I can't actually remember what they said I should do. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Its underneath. Under the engine on the left hand side where the exhaust is. I assume it all just unbolts. You might have to bleed the system when your finished. If you have a haynes manual it tells you in there. Also do a search on here. Its all I needed to do the master anyway.

Oh, make sure your land rover is on level ground when you do it. I forget to say good morning dopey too....

Thanks Dirty Hands but I am sure the guy said it was just a matter of removing a plate or something but I can't remember which one or even if I have got that bit right. Thanks again.

neither really when you look behind the cardboard around the pedals there is a streak of rust which someone suggested that it is the slave cylinder leaking. At least that is what I think he said.

Do you think it would be an easy enough job to replace the slave and master cylinders for an almost complete novice????

If the clutch is leaking fluid then either:

1. the fluid runs out and the clutch stops working

or

2. the fluid runs out but you keep topping it up.

The clutch is working, right?
You aren't topping it up frequently, right?

It isn't leaking!
