So, having now taken the roof off my landie i'm realising that the doors you could open easily are now not there and the landie is even less secure...

So is the clutch claw the only sensible answer or are there any cheaper options which do the same thing. Its a lot of money, but, i guess its 'an investment for life' - given that i am always going to have at least 1 landie lying around which will need protecting.

I did think about trying to make a custom one out of uni-strut - but - i guess it's not going to be the same really.
 
I take one of the leads off if any little scrote decides to try and hot wire it.. hadnt thought about much else.
 
A disclock would be better than a clutch claw but fitting both would be better still.;)
 
I take the rotor arm out and have a dirty great bit of chain that padlocks the steeing wheel to the clutch pedal - park it next to a wall on full lock and cant tow it without chopping said massive chain
 
gotta slightly stronga 1 from a metro on :) but yeh, theres only so far u can go, hardened steerin wheel beyond the budget slightly :)
 
I've got a heavy duty solid wire lock going through the steering wheel and round the disco seats now (through the handle bits) - as must as anything as a deterrent - you'd need tools to 'steal' it.

I like the idea of taking the rotor arm out - hadn't thought of that - thanks :)

It would take less than a minute with a junior hacksaw to remove that lock. As most stolen landys are towed away I don't see how removing the rotor arm will help.:doh::doh::doh:
 
Yup - so any passer by with no hax saw wont just jump in, drop the hand break and get some mates to push it away for 'a laugh'

So, its a bit of a deterrant - better than nothing.

I've got no problem with where it is parked at home. Its more for when i'm out and about.

If the company pay the bonus in next weeks pay package then i will probably invest in a clutch claw - otherwise I'll come up with a new plan.
 
I use a clutch claw its brilliant. Only problem with it is that your delicate pinkies get a tad dirty when fitting it. Especially if you have been off roading.

2. fit a hidden switch in the coil supply.
3. lock the doors
I know what your thinking why bother to lock the doors with no roof or rag top?
Well the man from the insurance company didn’t care if it was a rag top so long as i made a effort to secure the vehicle by locking the doors.

Not strictly true - someone posted a while ago they came across someone driving a stolen landy down the road using mole grips cus it had no steering wheel!!!

and i would definetly put my money into a clutch claw over a disclock anyday. just the basic fundamentals on how they work makes me think the clutch claw is far far superior.

Pay day on Friday so hopefully get one then.
