Hi all
Took the p38 on some sand with all tyres let down to 12ish psi, lots of clunking noise from the frnt end and the car just burried itself, makes the same noise if i put my foot down on wet road.Any ideas cv's are all good. cheers Kev
its a 2001 just had the right had shaft replaced as i had a good one sitting around ,didn't stop the noise no obvios signs underneath.Whats a Hardy-Spicer?Hardy-Spicers on the propshafts?
What year is it? Did an orange light flash up on the dash with a clicking noise? 1999 onwards have traction control on all 4 wheels and it might be braking a spinning wheel at the front. Earlier years only had it on the rear (if at all).
Other possibilities are half shaft loose in hub (green Loctite might help), diff or maybe a bush worn or droplink snapped. Or even suspension damper snapped.

do you mean transfer case?Timing case chain might be the culprit.
Does sound the traction control jumping in. More like a clunking from behind the drivers footwell. If the traction light lights up as well its doing it's job.Hi all
