Hi all. I've got a high mileage td5 110 and it's got clonk that goes right through the car when changing gears? Any ideas? Play in diffs?

I have twisted the props and there does seem to be a fair amount of play.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem?

Cheers

Check your a frame bushes and the joint where it locks to the rear diff as this takes a fair bit of weight when you change gear and axle shifting against a frame will cause a big knock.
Also the trailing arm bushes etc as they often wear causing same sort of noise plus a bit of a wondering feeling.
Only know as had to do all of mine and is a heck of a lot better now. That was banging like a drum.

It Deffinatley feels like its coming from the rear almost like the axle is moving. I will check bushes. When my ujs went on me series 2 props they just made a knocking all the time and it doesnt seem like the same noise. I will look at the prop ujs aswell though.

Thanks

I have the same problem but i been told my front diff has alot of play so gna look for a replacement

I'd confirm exactly what the problem is before spending ALOT of money on a new diff.
