Hi All,

Wondered if anyone can offer some advice please.

My 2009 disco 4 recently suffered with a battery failure.

Since I replaced the battery the climate control on the passenger side won't blow hot. Heats up nicely on drivers side and the aircon works fine on both sides, it just won't get hot on passenger side.

I've tried disconnecting the battery again for a while to see if it triggers some kind of reset but still no joy!

Thanks in advance

Lee

Search for a hard reset, basically remove both battery leads and hold them together for a minute then reconnect the battery and see if that helps.
The D3/4 forum has a wiki section with lots of useful info.

If not its code reader time

Is there not a "secret" switch sequence on the climate control controller to run a set of built in test routines, similar to the sequence on the Disco 2 climate control?

Hi,

I know there is the screen where you hold the top middle for 5 secs and then top left for 5 secs.

Is this a different settings screen?

Thanks for your help.

@freelance

did u want the hidden menu as well, let me know and also got that one

D3 and RRS climate reset

With ignition off press and hold the ECON & RECIRC buttons whilst turning ignition on (no need to start car).

The control module will then compare the current HEVAC actuator motor positions with the values stored in the module and will indicate an error by flashing the ECON LED.

If there are no errors, the LED will go out and the system will function normally.

To confirm that there are no errors, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, then back to the ON position.

Observe the operation of the programmed defrost LED.

If there are errors present, the programmed defrost LED will flash and the system will attempt to calibrate itself.

As op, interested in disco 4 and L494 sport, thanks

not sure as i saw it and thought i would at least let u know in case u wasn’t aware of it

also just checked out this and really don’t know if it may work for u , but once again was just a thought

alas i’ve even looked through the D4 forum, where abouts in the uk are u please as someone may be near u with a diagnostic reader

Quote from the RRS manual:

Distribution motor self-test

The motor and flap operation can be checked using the on-board distribution motor self-test function.

The self-test can be initiated by pressing and holding the ECON and RECIRC buttons while turning the ignition switch to the ON position.

The control module will then compare the current motor position with the values stored in the module and will indicate an error by flashing the ECON LED (light emitting diode).

Hi,

Thanks for info but my d4 doesn't have the ECON button that I know of.
