Hello all,
I've had alot of problems with my TD5 disco 2 and I recently had a severe knocking sound coming from it while driving.
I drained the gearbox oil and checked to make sure the filter was intact. Then refilled it with new dexron IID.
I then noticed the propshaft UJ's were totally knackered, so took off the prop shaft and changed them and put it back on with new bolt and nuts.
---------------
Now when driving I get a chattering sound (like a ratchet) when the cars moving. If I gun it and then slow down it stops for about a minute.
If i'm driving and I put it into 'N' (automatic). The chattering stops and then starts again if I put it back into Drive.
It doesn't happen at idle.
----------
I've just done with gearbox fluid refill method again using the method from discovery2.co.uk and the chattering is still there.
What are your thoughts? Im thinking its either the propshaft is toast or I just need to keep trying topping up the ATF fluid?
Thanks in advance guys!
