My freelander has the light cream/grey cloth seats, which have stains from the previous owner (not those kind of stains!, they had young kids so spilt drinks and general grubbyness)

Ive tried cleaning them with carpet cleaning fluid but it didnt do much.

If I removed the seats, could the covers be removed so I could stick them in the washing machine, then re fit them? or would this bugger them up?

Or should I look out for a new interior on fleabay?

Your thoughts please!

used to use wd40 in taxi got rid of most stains even the ones in the middle of seat try on edge somewhere to see if its not going to make things worse tho.Not saying it will work for you but it did for me.

an even coating of used ep90 works well on my cloth seats......not a stain in sight

Most car parts sellers will have a con of spray cleaner. Sprays on as a foam, then wipes off with a damp cloth after a few mins etc.

Have you tried a carpet cleaner attachment hose. I have a bash at mine every 6 months or so. The colour of the water you draw back out is shocking. Then again, I dont drive in pants/trousers, you gotta expect a bit of staining.

 seat covers

I used an upholstery cleaner aerosol from halfrauds. Can't remember the brand, but it had a red & black foam brush attached to the top. Removed all the stains in my cloth interior. Would deffo recommend the foam spray.

Autoglym do quite a good car interior cleaner, got to be worth a try before buying another interior.

You could always hire a carpet cleaner /shampoo machine from Homebase (other shops are available) do the whole of the interior
get a few mates round do their cars as well split the cost!

I found the wall paper steamer and a rag rejuvenated foam seats and wiping with rag the grease came off

I had to remove the passenger seat from the Freelander after the cat pi$$ed on it while getting taken to the vets, to get rid of the smell I had to remove the cloth cover and soak it in water/washing powder and it came up fine so I guess putting the covers in the washing machine will also work fine.
