Hi everyone. Want to put a new stereo in my '89 Classic Vogue 3.5. Can anyone tell me what the wires on the old stereo do? It's a standard range rover radio/cassette. There are two lines of them, one vertical in a group of 5, which i assume is power etc, and the other horizontal in a group of 8, which i assume is the speakers.

Verticals from top to bottom are:

white w/orange stripe,
yellow w/black stripe (goes no where),
red w/black stripe
purple w/white stripe
black

Horizontals from left to right are:

black w/brown stripe
black w/orange stripe
black w/yellow stripe
black w/green stripe
black w/pink stripe
black w/white stripe
black w/blue stripe
black w/red stripe

Would be really grateful as have not a clue.

white w/orange stripe. dash lights
yellow w/black stripe (goes no where), electric aerial/amp switch power feed
red w/black stripe, ignition power feed
purple w/white stripe, permenant live
black, earth

Double check with a test light!!!!!!

The others are speaker wires, trial and error for these!
