We restore Classic Range Rovers and are coming across parts that are impossible to find in an unbroken state.
We would like to start remanufacturing some of the internal trim plastic parts, but as always, injection mouldings require expensive tooling and a large quantity of parts to make it worthwhile to the moulder.
We are looking at Injection moulding the centre dash moulding that supports the radio and climate control on soft dash Range Rover, and the instrument bezel for the same car.
We would like to get an idea of the number of people that would support this exercise by buying the parts, the price clearly being defined by the number of interested parties.

If we get successful response to this exercise, there are many other parts we intend to look at, such as door pulls and door speakers for soft dash and fuse box covers, seat base access panels, and would welcome further ideas.
The first bit though is to understand the demand, if any!
 
I've seen pictures of your restro's & they look great.
I've an original hard-dash & would go for the odd small piece of trim, but customers with needs such as myself won't make your project viable.
I hope you get more positive feed-back than mine.
 
I think the thing is Tim, to look at the number of soft dashes that were made and I guess consider the number you have resto requirements for. The soft dash dash section was a limited number of them spread across the production years.

I'm in the process of restoring 2 classics and yes parts are getting difficult to source in an unmolested reusable state.

I wouldn't mind having a chat over the phone at some time
 
As above, I would have thought parts for the hard dash would be more desirable. Have you seen the price a good fusebox cover goes for :eek:
 
Thanks for your answers gents. Adam, as you realise I do need to get a few positive responses before I go down this route, So hoping we might get a few more positive replies.
Norseman, its just like voting, you may not think it makes a difference, but enough people like you and we might have something (and thanks for the comments about the restos.

I am struggling with body skins for the later four door classics seems to be plenty of stuff for two door though.

The thing in favour on those trim parts is if people are doing proper restos, and that's going to realistically be the bulk of the market, they will tolerate quite high prices if the alternative is a cracked or damaged part from a breakers I would think £200 per piece.
