I know its a bit cheeky but I need a bit of local help. I live in Australia and will be over to the UK in a week for a holiday. I am hoping to be able to get hold of a fan resistor pack for a 93 Vogue SE but am having problems sorting something this end. All I can find is some sort of upgraded unit that goes with and upgraded fan and nothing doing a search here. If anyone can point me toward a standard one please can you help, a good used one is fine ( if there is such a thing ) I will be in the UK for 3 weeks staying in Canturbury and Hook, Hampshire so have time to get something posted.

when you are in hampshire give this man a call, martin toole on 07885399785. he will be able to help you out

Is it easy to fit one of them, as my fan is only working on full and I am guessing this is the fix?

Would also like to know how tricky it is as mine is full blow or hee haw :)

think I read the dash may have to come out??

A couple of posts from other sites..........

A common problem is for the fan to only work on high (III) setting. The most likely cause is the blower speed control resistor going bad. David Corcoran reports that the part looks like a cigar and you can see it if you look through the plastic grills on your hood (or take them out to see). It sits on the firewall and you can't get to it unless you remove the decker panel which is a lot of work. (Accordingly, it can cost several hundred dollars of labor to get the dealer to fix it). The part itself is inexpensive (on a 1990 RR the part number is PRC 8010, and costs about $40).

I was hoping that as this was such a common problem they would be available for a few pounds easily in the UK. Obviously this is not the case so the aftermarket one seems the way to go. Unless anyone knows different?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread BUT the resistor mentioned above is not the one that is associated with the main heater motor. The one under the decker panel is the resistor unit for the Air Conditioning so changin it is unlikely to have any effect whatsoever on your heater blower.
