does anyone know id bore diameter of master cylinder fitted to early 2 door rangie..imperial fittings, compared to later metric type?

where to buy larger discs and calipers??(yes i know will need larger wheels..)

thanks..

Have a look for race discs. Doubt if anyone makes them for a classic though.
Unless you go for the later vented type discs. Better heat retraction from pads and work better in heavy braking than solids.

already on ebc vented grooved, modified imperial calipers (to take vented discs) and ebc grooved on rears..

need more stopping power...fitting hydroboost ,getting rid of vac servo.might as well replace m/c at same time, but wondering if a larger bore version is about,(have larger dia tyres and want bigger discs etc)

have new m/c to fit hydroboost, but its ott really being 1 1/4 inch bore!that and the hydroboost will be silly on standard calipers i thinks..one way to find out though!

its larger diametre pistons in calipers not master you need for greater pressure ,110s have bigger caliper pistons ,the greater the size of caliper piston compared to master cylinder bore the greater the pressure ,for the same effort on pedal, also if you contact hobsons they used to do the larger vented discs with calipers fitted to early armoured lrs will fit rrc

ahhh..i know how it works, smaller dia m/c bore more pressure, less volume though..bigger dia m/c bore less pressure but greater volume...

i want bigger m/c bore (atleast a tad bigger) as i want to fit larger discs and hense calipers (with bigger pistons)..now i have the hydroboost sytem ready to go,adapter plate, push rod made etc, that will compensate for m/c being less pressure for given foot pressure being as its a power brake sytem designed for cummins dodge ram..

but your info on where to get larger calipers/discs is what i need!and thanks too..

though have dealt with hobsons...last time i think the phone call ended with feck you, you theiving barstards,i can go to ashcroft and get a new one cheaper...opps..

Hi, very interested in converting my imperial calipers to vented discs.

I have the spacers, bolts from some metric vented calipers.

I intend to drill the split pin holes to take the longer solid pins (from the vented calipers)

.......but I have been told that early imperial discs are different from the metric ones and not interchangable??? - is this true?

What options do I have?

regards Andy

vented disc is ftc902 on all , imperial and metric refers to securing bolts metric are a tadge wider than imperial

So, can you replace an imperial solid disc with a metric one? ....and therefore if I add the spacers change to metric vented discs??

cheers Andy
