Well judging from your responses it seems pretty clear cut to me.
You don't want to risk your defender because of the tlc you've lavished on it , understandable ,there aren't enough seats in the defender , the rr has definitely left a lasting impression on you.

yeah but the trouble is i get quite attatched to cars especially old cars and ESPECIALLY old land rovers. my judgement on whats right is poor to say the least.
 
How much would it cost to sort the defender ( you know tyres that can handle snow, chassis rust etc ) ?
Then compare that cost to the price of the rr.
Can you afford to run two cars etc ?

Hmmm, well actually i have set aside a bit of cash to have the defender modified further at scorpion racing early next year. my intention is that the defender becomes less my daily drive and more my weekend fun

So you'll be needing a daily driver that can handle ice and snow.

I KNEW IT those cheecky buggers at the dealership have been preasuring me into buying that car for a month now but this is a new low! they put a bloody sales man in the landy zone! OI call security!:p
 
Ok will do. thanks for that it was quite cathartic. I will now become a Range Rover owner. probably see me on this part of the forum a lot from now on with all the problems its bound to develope! Cheers mate
 
Sadly i don't get in here that often as I drive a depender.

No I helped my wife into thinking that it's more economically viable to spend the 2 or 3 grand she'd was putting to one side ( for a cheap hatchback ) on the landy rather than on some nasty piece of French muck.

Smiles all round...............well I'm sure there will be at some point.
 
OOO nice lookinbg motor.Dont like the seats too much but ive got the orrible brown leather mes self.The grey leather is nice but that wouldnt put me off the motor.You said damage wouldnt bother you on the rangie but it might look out of place on a tidy motor like that.If you cant find a better motor for the money without flying back here then go for it.And then tell us how it goes.

yeah i know what you are saying about the interior; it looks as though they flayed zippie to get the trim but its kind of nice in a retro range rover way. i like it. the seats are bloody comfortable and its a nicer ride than me defender, not that i am saying ny thing against my beloved you understand
