:)
its simular, slower, then much slower still depending on hard your metals are.
cutting tools are fixed but moved by the machine (on lathes)
but spin and move along with the metals on a milling machine.
just to make it more difficault,
(here we go)
3 axis & 5 axis milling means its moves in all them axis at the same time making weired & wonderfull shapes..

ok so far,
then looky look at this..

you can bop along to the muzac too...

all of it is good but at 7.0 mins in its really showing off its 5 axis movements,
but fooking clever..

I think its brillient, but simuler to my main job I retired from..

That's insane. Oooooo the shiny

Excellent! I need more chisels and to get them sharper but pretty happy. Going on a woodland course in April for a week ;)

Who is that with, if you don't mind me asking..?
Working green wood is much nicer than seasoned wood imo..

Wtf!

At auction today were some awesome record lathes that were going for £300. Ain't got that money.

Chisels were going through £40 each so skipped that. Will buy online.

The lathe I use (in the pic) was £120 off ebay. I got all the tools from a second hand tool shop.
If you go the green wood route, you can make yourself a pole lathe for next to nothing. Here is one I made from bits n bobs a few years ago, and I can make anything on it that can be done on a powered lathe..

Oooo bodgers.org looks interesting. I now have ALOT of cherry! That has to season. But bought some rounds to go on with today

Nice wood :D

Want to get into turning when I get time and money

I've got loads of oak and beech here. It's going to make lovely firewood!

And got cedar oak. Will cut it up. Turn the bark off and mark it for turning and date it. Got racking for seasoning now.

Well I have been a little busy. Had started a piece out of cherry but it kinda exploded and with the allergic thing going on have it a break til sorted good extraction set up.

Come home with 2 pieces I am quite proud of.:)

Thanks. Teaching myself as I go along. Determined to do a show later in the year. Just to gauge opinion of my style etc
