Has anybody got the chrome inserts on the external rubbing strips on their P38? If so would you be so kind as to measure the width of the chrome trim for me please.
I've seen the trim for sale with the inserts in and they make silly money so I was going to have a go at doing it myself.

Couldn't you just measure the channel and get the nearest fitting strips?

Yeah I had thought of that, but I have only ever seen a picture of the trim so I don't know whether the trim fills the insert completely. It would seem that chrome trim is available in many different widths some of which are very similar hence my question.

You know there as cheep as chips..... look around, but not on ebay, they sell them for loads there, you can do the whole car for less than £20 easy

the trims with the chrome inserts are off the VOGUE range. they are molded into the trim when made. they dont come out

Yea but you can get sticky 3M that go into the channel same effect I did it on mine..... and then took it off

ive got some but gave sas 1 piece as his was odd,2 others were damaged so binned them,was off a autobiography i broke apparantly they are now unobtainable as a new part

problem with these is they stand proud so catch when you open door on wing etc which rips it off,you need chrome tape from a signmakers etc that works fine

Wil2813 you are so right I hadn't considered the trim catching. Thanks for the heads up on the chrome tape I've just ordered some, will let you know how I get on.

Then cut the slightly short..... then they wont
